中药能大幅减轻拔智齿后的疼痛和肿起，迅速恢复口腔牙齿功能 Tian Qi is very effective for reducing pain and swelling - Wisdom teeth removal recovery

     12月22日，女儿在专科做了智齿拔除。回家后即服用止血祛瘀中药--田七。我们知道，拔除智齿也是一项外科手术，要切开肌肉组织甚至某些骨，所以会造成出血和局部肿痛。田七具有止血和祛瘀的功能，即能缩短伤口出血时间，同时促进因手术时从破裂的血管流出的血液（我们称为瘀血）的吸收，而且能加速血管的生长及结缔组织的增生，从而促进伤口的愈合，因此能大幅减轻手术的损伤。所以她只是当天5点多服了1粒止痛药，晚上12时再服1粒，之后再也不需要服止痛药。第二天、第三天继续服田七，第4-7天用云南白药涂伤口。12月29日(今天）复诊，牙医惊叹她已没有肿疼，恢复得很好。我告诉他我用了中药止血消肿，他说用了有好效果就行。今天已正常进食饭、肉。

On December 22nd, my daughter went to a dental surgeon to get her lower wisdom teeth removed. As soon as we got home, I gave her tian qi, a plant known for stopping bleeding and pain caused by injury. We all know that surgery will cause bleeding and tissue damage.Tianqi can can shorten the bleeding time of wounds.Also Tianqi can promote blood circulation to eliminate stasis. That is why She only took one painkilling pill in the evening and one before bed. She didn't need them after that. After three days of drinking tian qi tea, the swelling decreased drastically and the pain was gone. On the fourth day, she used yunnan baiyao (the main active ingredient is tian qi as well) on her cheeks and in her mouth. By December 29th, which is today, the swelling was completely gone, and even the doctor was surprised during the check up! I told him about the herbs, and he was impressed by the results. She can now enjoy the food she normally eats and is very happy she recovered so fast.

Asthma can be cured 治愈 哮喘病

Jo,来自英国伦敦的一个病人，有48年哮喘病史，每天喷药2次，否则难以呼吸。从中医角度辩证，她的病情比较复杂，不是单纯的寒或热。她自觉怕热，但舌诊却是寒，综合脉象和其他指标，我最后给出了她是寒性哮喘的定义。一次针灸后，她已感觉好转。二诊针灸加中药2天，已可以减喷药量为1次。再进行3次针灸，吃中药2副后痊愈。前后只用了2周。叮嘱以后不要吃或和冷的东西。现已近2年，没有复发。

One of my patients, Jo, had a 48-year history of asthma. She's had it since she was very young. Before she started her treatment, she had to use her inhaler twice a day. From my initial observations, it was clear she was a complicated case. She showed some  conflicted symptoms where some indicated cold while others indicated hot. For example, she is sensitive to warmth which is a hot symptom, but her tongue is watery and pink which  is a cold symptom due to yang deficiency. After analyzing all of her symptoms carefully, I concluded that her asthma was because of excess coldness. After one session of acupuncture, she felt better right away. The second session combine acupuncture with two days of herbs. Her condition kept improving so much that she only needed her inhaler once a day. After another three sessions of acupuncture  and two days of herbs again, she was completely free of any asthma symptoms. Since then, two years passed and she never had asthma again.

中医治病的实质 How acupunture and herbs work

                                                                                        
       中医自汉代《伤寒论》问世以来，已有完整的诊疗系统。经过历代医家的完善，已是非常成熟和卓有成效的治疗疾病的医学系统。很多疾病在早期时中医已经能诊断并 治愈，防止病情的深入发展，这就是中医的治未病的思想。中医不会等到器官病变时才去治疗，当出现一些症状，如一段时间的失眠、便秘、腹泻、头痛、无食欲 等，中医会找出病因，从而对症治疗。以头痛为例，可以是外伤撞击引起的，可以是贫血引起的，可以是高血压引起的，也可以是睡眠不足引起的等等，那么就要辨 清原因，从而采用不同的方法治疗。如果是外伤，就要止血祛瘀，贫血的话就补血，所用的中药针灸方法不同，但都可以治疗头痛这一症状，这就是治病必求其 本。

Retinitis Pigmentosa

Lisa is one of my patients who have retinitis pigmentosa. TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) can treat diseases like these. The acupuncture treatment for this is to insert needles in acupuncture points related to the eye. They are usually located close to the eyeball. These points can also be used for a variety of eye related problems such as optic atrophy, central retinal artery occlusion and central retinitis. The two most important points are the jingming points (BL 1) located in the inner corners of both eyes.  Herbs used for treatment would be ones that help develop eyesight. The treatments may vary slightly and will depend on a personal diagnosis.

The TCM diagnosis process consists of four steps: observations, interrogation, scent and sounds, and pulse reading. From this I can find the reason behind the symptoms and develop a treatment plan.

中医对眼科有独到的方法。在看病人时，一样是遵循“望闻问切 ”的原则，以中医理论为指导。Lisa是我其中一个眼科的病人。她11年前开始有夜盲症，6年前开始白天也慢慢看不见了，只有模糊的影子。她看了很多专科医生，最后说她得了“视网膜色素变性”，是一种遗传病。目前西医学没有办法，病人会慢慢失明。我用了中医的诊断方法。判断她为肝阴虚，用了一段时间的针灸，主要穴位是睛明穴。目前有一定疗效，其视力有所上升，但因病程太久，不知能恢复到什么程度。若病人能在夜盲时就诊，会容易很多。
